How to assemble a bimini top.
Step 1: locate a clean, flat surface to begin assembly of your Carver top.
Step 2: open the box, remove the canvas and frame, set the canvas aside.
Step 3: lay out and align the frame sections, locate the assembly hardware, pay special
attention to the way the screw holes line up on the frame sections.
When the screw holes for the bows are facing upward, the frame is upside down.
Use caution when tightening the assembly screws. Burrs on the screw head may cause damage to
your canvas. Should you burr out a screw head, simply file
it down, or cover it with tape to protect your canvas.
Step 4: attach the hold-down straps. Step 5: once the frame has been assembled,
unfold the canvas and lay it out with the tag facing upward.
The tag is sewn at the rear, or back, of the canvas.
Step 6: slide the metal bows through the sleeves on the canvas.
The long bow is the rear, or back bow, which should be inserted into the sleeve closest
to the tag. The short bow inserts through the center sleeve,
and the medium bow inserts through the front sleeve.
Step 7: thread the adjuster straps, buckle end first, through the pre-cut slot on each
side of the canvas. Pay close attention to the threading sequence.
The buckle goes over and under the metal tubing and exits on the underneath side of the canvas.
Thread the looped end of the strap of the buckle.
Guide the lopped end of the straps over the short bow.
Leave the straps loose. Step 8: simply attach the eye-ends to the
jaw slides and tighten securely.
