Coast Guard 8th District change-of-command ceremony

Ladies and gentlemen, may I have your attention
please, the ceremony will begin in 15 minutes. We ask that you please take your seats at
this time. Color Guard, present the colors. Ladies and gentlemen, it is now my great pleasure
to present Rear Adm. Roy Nash. Good morning folks, welcome to the World War II museum,
what a beautiful venue isn’t it? We have seven sectors, several large marine safety units
including Morgan City, Port Arthur and Texas City. A fleet of patrol boats on the coast,
a fleet of river buoy tenders on the rivers, three air stations, an aviation training center
over in Mobile that contributes to our response operations and Base New Orleans here, as well
as our entire 8th Coast Guard District staff and that’s just naming big components. I am
overflowing with accolades to describe this team further and I know Adm. Cook will cherish
them as much as I have. Sir, I relieve you. I stand relieved. Now Rear Adm. U.S. Coast
Guard retired, departing.
