Coast Guard offloads 18,000 pounds of marijuana and cocaine at Port Everglades

Good morning everybody, how are you? Welcome to Coast Guard Cutter Bay,
it’s really my pleasure to be here. I wanna commend the crew of the Cutter Bay
and all the other Coast Guard units that are serving right now, that have deployed
away from their family and friends. And with the mission of removing drugs
from our nation, reducing the profits of the transnational criminal
organizations that move these drugs. And then make no doubt about it, what
you see here is profits straight out of the pockets of ruthless transnational
criminal organizations that would do harm. And don’t have any regard for
our families and loved ones. And so I am really appreciative
of the services of this crew and our Coast Guard folks who do this. In the last three years,
the Coast Guard’s removed 1.3 million pounds of drugs that
were bound for our country. We’ve interdicted 1,300 smugglers and
gotten right after these transnational criminal organizations
whose only motive is profit. We’re never gonna let up,
we’ll be relentless in our pressure. We’re gonna come where we have
the advantage and that’s on the high seas, where we seize these drugs
in bulk quantities, and we’re never gonna let the pressure off. And no matter where you turn on
the ocean that’s our domain and we’ll be getting after you.
