CONTINUING OUR COVERAGE FROM VIRGINIA BEACH, ALMOST 24 HOURS AFTER A TEACHER DISAPPEARED IN THE WATER, THE COAST GUARD HAS SUSPENDED ITS SEARCH. THANKS FOR STAYING WITH US, I’M KATIE COLLETT. (LEX) AND I’M LEX GRAY. WE’VE JUST LEARNED THAT MISSING TEACHER IS 35-YEAR-OLD RABBI REUVEN BAUMAN. FIRST RESPONDERS TELL US HE WENT INTO THE WATER SOUTH OF SANDBRIDGE — OFF BACK BAY NATIONAL WILDLIFE REFUGE. HE WAS TRYING TO HELP A STUDENT WHO WAS STRUGGLING. (KATIE) THE WILDLIFE REFUGE IS A NO SWIMMING ZONE WITH NO LIFEGUARDS. 10 ON YOUR SIDE’S KAYLA GASKINS REPORTS FROM VIRGINIA BEACH. IT HAS BEEN ALMOST 24 HOURS NOW SINCE A 35- YEAR-OLD MAN WENT MISSING OFF THE WATERS IN VIRGINIA BEACH. WE’RE AT LITTLE ISLAND STATE PARK YESTERDAY WHERE YESTERDAY 1PM OFFICIALS GOT A CALL ABOUT A MISSING 35 YEAR OLD SWIMMER. WE’RE TOLD THAT THE SWIMMER GOT INTO THE WATER TO HELP A 13-YEAR-OLD BOY. THE 13-YEAR-OLD DID MAKE IT SHORE SAFELY. THE 35-YEAR-OLD HOWEVER IS STILL MISSING AND THE COAST GUARD HAS CONFIRMED THEY JUST SUSPENDED THEIR SEARCH AT 11:25 THIS MORNING.
