How to prepare your jet ski BEFORE you head to the boat ramp – YAMAHA SEA-DOO

What’s up its Junior from the florida ski riders and today I’m coming
to you to show you how to prepare your jet ski for the ramp a lot of people
like to just let’s take off and put some ramp and then hold up the ramp you know
setting up turn to get into the water so what I’m trying to show you guys today
is how to do this how to prepare your skis before you even leave your house or
your shop go grab the key stick it in the ignition crank it up hit the gas
couple times make sure your ski is I can tell you a lot of people I know go into
the ramp and really started it up right there and the battery was completely
dead don’t be that guy make sure your equipment is working
properly basically first thing you do is walk around the jet skis make sure that
trailer proper tires make sure your jet ski is strapped to the trailer a lot of
people don’t like to strap their skis but it’s a big it’s a big thing you need
to have your skis drive just god forbid you have a swerve we
have to stop easy reach back there and fly off come around and hit somebody check pull the strap make sure you have
five stitches there’s a lot of laws out there you may want to check your local
laws to make sure that you are in line but here in Florida we have to have a
fire extinguisher on our ski we have to have a whistle on our vest just in case
and of course we have to wear vessels while we’re on these PwC’s so with that
guys make sure that you take them right to caution our safety measures so you
guys stay safe on the water you’ll never forget to put your plugs in always do
that I always cross the cord always so guys with that I hope you guys
have an awesome time on the water be safe make sure you understand your ski ramp enclosing them just mayhem there
with other people trying to come in and now you don’t want to be that person to
lock it all up so make sure you take care of everything before you actually
hit the ramp so make sure you guys are safe this weekend and make sure you take
all the cautionary you you

Crossing the chains is good, putting the chain on top of the hitch near the coupler/ball is a very bad idea.

Also to add, it's also now a requirement to have a signal device, flares, flashlight or mirror when in open bodies of water.

I actually run the loop on the winch strap around the bow roller and clip it in the hook. tome that's just a little extra in case i have to brake hard enough and it slide forward since the back straps will allow forward movement. in all my years i have never seen anyone put the safety chains above the hitch like that. I am not saying its a bad thing but i could see how it might get under the trailer connection and maybe bind it up and off the ball.
