S.W.A.T. WATER TRAINING

S.W.A.T. WATER TRAINING

after we cast them this time I’m gonna
pick up your guys you’re gonna pick mine up a trade vessel today we’re out here
at the Sarasota sailing squadron to do our annual waterborne operations
training when you see them go you’re just peeling off you’re not pulling him
with you that’s why your hands need to be up and
then when he feels you of the youth he goes and then vice versa all the way
down my name is Ryan Brown I’m a lieutenant with the Sarasota County
Sheriff’s Office one of these Special Operations lieutenants and I’m also the
SWAT team commander all right we’re ready on the north end it’s why it stands for special weapons
and tactics and part of our tactics has to be able to operate not only on land
but also from water we have a Sarasota County Sheriff’s Office here and Amanda
T County Sheriff’s Office and FWC also joined us today so we have all the
different agencies cooperating together so not only is it a good joint operation
for us to work together and get on the same page but it’s also an opportunity
for the guys to if they haven’t met each other to meet each other so that when
when something big does happen the first time we see each other is not on that
event so we get to know each other beforehand within Sarasota County in
Manatee counties there’s a lot of waterways and there’s also a lot of
structures and homes along the water in any type of critical incident or hostage
rescue or any type of situation like that whereby we would need to board a
vessel or actually come from the water to the land undetected to the suspects
we call it casting which is where we will actually bail off the side of the
boat at a given speed and it’s undetected when we actually enter the
water it’s like training anything whether it
be football or baseball or whatever your profession is practice makes perfect and
we don’t want to have those mistakes in a real and a real operation we’ll iron
out any details here and then when it comes to the real operation it’s
automatic
