Surfers rescued by US Coast Guard

Three surfers were caught up in these choppy
seas near Grays Harbour in Washington State. The two women and a man who tried to help
them were thrown around before a US Coast Guard helicopter arrived. This footage, released by the US Defence Department,
sees the coast guard bravely descend into the water and set about winching the surfers
to safety. These guys aren’t the only ones to be rescued
by the US Coast Guard. They save around 5,500 people a year. Local media said conditions were rough, with
10 mile per hour winds and a temperature of just 9.4 degrees Celsius. Once aboard, the man still made sure to check
that his new friends were doing ok.
